455 Market is pleased to announce its recognition as recipient of the
2008 San Francisco BOMA Earth Award Second Place - Medium Size Commercial Buildings.
The Earth Award pays tribute to the top office buildings in San Francisco that have demonstrated the most outstanding environmental commitment through their programs, leadership, policies and innovations.
The BOMA Earth Award Program is a collaborative effort that includes representatives from PG&E, Golden Gate Disposal & Recycling and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Through the Environmental Committee of the Building Owners and Managers Association ["BOMA"], the Building's physical impact on the environmental and comprehensive efforts were evaluated to include energy and conservation efforts, air quality and toxics reduction programs, construction practices, support for public transportation and use of education to engage building occupants in sustainable practices.
On April 21, 2008, in a award ceremony at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, 455 market was again honored to receive "Second Place Medium Commercial Building" in the second annual Earth Award program. This award is in recognition of 455 Market's proactive commitment to sustainable environmental programs as reflected through its building operating policies and practices.
As a result of your contribution, and conscious objective and vision of building ownership for many years, the Building has achieved significant merit as an innovative forerunner in environmental awareness and dedication. This achievement represents the third award received in the last three years. Past honors include the Commercial Recycler of the Year ["CORY"] Award in 2005 and the first Earth Award in 2007.
455 Market shares this award with our valued tenants as active and integral participants, and in recognition of your essential contributions in making your operations more environmentally sustainable. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being part of this achievement and in particular, for your conscious effort to increase recycling while reducing energy and water usage.
We look forward to your support and proactive efforts as a perpetual work in progress to steward the Earth's resources.
